Emphasizing simplicity of structure and speed of execution this outdoor landscape class is for all levels. The beginner can benefit from the review of fundamentals regarding composition and gesture, while the more experienced may refresh and renew their approach.

The plein air ‘quick study’ is a practice  that can be an end in itself or a tool to support indoor studio practice or extend one’s understanding of both subject, medium and technical range.

PETER SCHROTH is a foundation studies professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has an MFA from the University of Colorado and a BFA from Syracuse University,

Schroth is the recipient of numerous awards including the Pollack-Krasner Foundation, a Presidential Fellowship from SCAD, the Weir Farm Trust, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, the Cill Rialaig Project, a Heinrich Boll Residency, the Elizabeth Foundation, Dodge Foundation, Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, Ucross Foundation, and the Millay Colony.
