CHRIS LIBERTI

a 3-day painting workshop

May 21, 22, 23, 2018

Boulder, Colorado

We will be working strictly from life; still life and or interior spaces, including our imaginations during this 3-day painting workshop. We’ll be relying on our intuitions while abandoning the notion of painting “things” through experimentation with color, shape, surface, mediums/tools and composition. I will be giving demonstrations throughout the course and giving each attendee individualized one-on-one guidance. We are not intended to “finish” anything, this will be a low pressure experimental process where we are encouraged to step out of our comfort zones only to become acutely aware of what we are seeing and feeling.

All levels welcome. Oil or acrylic paints.

“…paint something that isn’t anything until it is painted well.” – Charles Hawthorne

“The pretty, initial position which falls short of completeness is not to be valued – except as a stimulus for further moves.” – Richard Diebenkorn
